Working Drawings
The final phase of the planning process is the Working Drawing Phase. At this point, the plans have been finalized and reviewed, and sealed by a Structural Engineer. It is now time to turn the plans over to the builder.
The Working Drawings include all the information needed to obtain a building permit. The builder will construct the house from this plan set and use these drawings for estimates and pricing. The Working Drawing Plan Set includes a fully detailed Site Plan, Foundation Plan, First and Second Floor Plans, Roof Plan, Elevations, Building Sections, and Details. MEC Check reports are also available with the working drawings.
A good set of Working Drawings is crucial when building a house, while a poor set can lead to errors and interruptions during construction. If the plans are unclear, assumptions may be made in the field and certain aspects of the design may not be carried out as they were intended. I strive to make each plan as user friendly as possible. With my past field experience and design experience, I feel that I can meet and understand the Home Owner’s and Builder’s needs when it comes to plan development. Poor planning can result in a plan that does not “live” well. I also know that errors in a plan cause downtime and headaches for everyone, that is why you will find that plans by Melaragno Residential Design L.L.C. are "Plans That Work!"
